A friend of mine came up with the name "Pollyflower" since the subject matter is parrot tulips. Enjoying a good pun I thought this a suitable name. It always fascinates me how many colors there really are in what, at first glance, appears to be primarily a monochromatic subject. As I study the blossoms I see more and more colors. I particularly wanted to paint the "flippy bits" on these flowers - the graceful curls of the petals.
