Alaskan Woods
30x24 1996 $1200
In 1996 my husband and I took a trip to Alaska. As a Navy brat he had at one time lived with his family on Kodiac Island and had always wanted to see Alaska again. It was a most enjoyable trip. On one outing we visited an island that had wonderfully lush mosses. I have never seen moss grow so thickly. It has an amazing feel under foot. The above scene was on this island. I particularly liked the contrast between the weathered and bleached wood and the lush growth. This is not a very good photograph of the painting. This painting has already been varnished and I was not able to eliminate the glare, especially on the left side, that was caused by the varnish.
